To Do When You Have An Accident?
1)
Make sure that everyone is all right and call for help is needed.
Always call 911 if there are injuries.
2)
Move your vehicle off the roadway or to a safe location if it is
drivable.
3)
Turn off the ignition of all vehicles involved in the accident.
4)
Call the police. Make
sure that you get all important information such as names,
driver’s license numbers, insurance information, telephone
numbers, etc. Also,
take down the name and numbers of all witnesses to the accident.
5)
If you do not call the police.
6)
Do not leave the scene until everything is taken care of such as
towing and statements. Give
necessary information to the police and parties involved.
Do not discuss fault, personal condition or anything
unrelated to the accident to help minimize future legal action.
7)
If your vehicle needs to be towed call….Never drive a car that
may be unsafe due to collision damage.
8)
If a police officer insists on using a wrecker at the scene, know
where you car is being towed.
Get a card from the tow truck driver or write down his
name, the company name and phone number.
If you can have it towed directly to Charles Body Shop, do
so. Otherwise, you
might have to pay storage fees.
9)
Remove all valuables from your car before it is towed.
Make sure that you take your insurance
information from the car.
10)
Call your insurance agent to report the accident.
If the other party is at fault, also call their agent.
11)
Remember that you can choose your collision repair center!

Do not authorize repairs until…
13)
Choose your repair shop carefully.
Improperly repaired collision damage can decrease the value
of your car.
